The Town of Oak Creek has initiated a targeted update of its 1996 Comprehensive Plan and Land Use Code! Granted the Governors Smart Growth Award, the existing plan will serve as a foundation that will be realigned to meet the current vision for the Community.
The Update Process will explore the Town’s current vision of itself and will gather citizen input through the use of surveys and public meetings to arrive at a “collective sense of place.” Drawing from this updated sense of place, the second step in the Update will be to revise the Town's Land Use Code to assure new development in Oak Creek is reflective of its revised vision.
We believe that building great communities is achieved by focusing on a participation-based planning process grounded in a community’s history and informed by the trends of the future. This is an exciting process in which the Town hopes to engage the entire community in determining how Oak Creek should grow and change over the next 10-20 years.
