REUNION REHAB HOSPITAL AT NORTHFIELD | DENVER, CO
Understanding the benefit that outdoor spaces offer on the path to restored health, Britina developed a design to accommodate limited mobility constraints, physical therapy treatment, and therapeutic time outside at this 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility. Adaptations to typical design elements were made to address the unique needs of patients and staff, including non-slip pavement, use of diverse surface materials for building strength and stability, a hybrid ramp and stair structure with handrail, careful siting of widened pedestrian crosswalks, and more. The successful collaboration at this site led to Britina’s involvement in a subsequent Reunion Rehab Hospital project in Inverness, CO.
